Suzuki Association of the Americas--The place to begin if you are interested in a Suzuki approach to learning an instrument. The Santa Monica Academy of Music offers a comprehensive Suzuki violin program for children as young as 3 and-a-half years old.
Music Teachers' National Association--Founded in 1876, MTNA is America's oldest professional music association, which exists to support music teaching and the art of music. Today, MTNA is a nonprofit organization of 24,000 independent and collegiate music teachers committed to furthering the art of music through programs that encourage and support teaching, performance, composition and scholarly research. Numerous instructors at the Santa Monica Academy of Music are members of MTNA.
Music Teachers Association of California--MTAC, incorporated in 1897, is a professional organization of approximately 4,200 California music instructors. As members of MTAC instructors are, among other things, able to provide extra learning curricula to dedicated and motivated students in their efforts for excellence. Some of MTAC's most popular offerings include the Certificate of Merit program and the Piano Concerto and Solo Competitions. The Santa Monica Academy of Music is proud to have active MTAC piano instructors on its faculty.
The National Association for Music Education--MENC is the largest national association dedicated to the advancement of music education. Founded in 1907, MENC now has more than 120,000 members involved in all levels of music education from preschool through college and in all areas of music education including general music, choral, band, orchestral, and music teacher education.
Keyboard Concepts--Keyboard Concepts has a thorough selection of new and used pianos to purchase, and also carry affordably priced pianos for rental. They are the source of many of the pianos at the Santa Monica Academy of Music.
